Dear Dr.Trotter. Regarding my Shockwave Therapy, I have today been able to wear a normal pair of shoes, with orthotics, for the first time in two years. The treatment has been very successful and the pain and discomfort is no more. Plantar Fasciitis put a huge damper on my life and meant I could not function very well so to be free of it is wonderful. No other treatment even began to help, so many thanks indeed. Suzana N
"I've had tennis elbow for the past 5 years, had to quit hockey. Lots of different therapies, physio, acupuncture, IMS, cortisone shot from my Dr, brace, creams. Everything helped a bit but just came back. From the moment Dr T put his machine on my elbow I knew it was going to be different. It really wasnt comfortable, but after the 2nd treatment the majority of pain was gone. It's now been 2 months and I don't even think of it. Should have done this therapy from the beginning. Thanks!"

"Shock wave treatment was beneficial to me and it gave me 80% of my mobility back in my left arm. It has taken the pain away which l used to get on a daily basis. I am a nurse and require the use of my arms. I would recommend this treatment to anyone interested" KB
"My achilles tendon is probably 75% better than it was. I can now usually walk without too much pain and I think that is great. There is still some swelling on the tendon and it still hurts when I rub it. Your therapy is the only thing I have found that has helped." Brian Bonney

Extra Corporeal Shockwave (ESWT) is a safe, effective and non- surgical technology utilizing high-energy, short wavelength sound waves, called shockwaves, to treat tendons, bone and periosteum (the pain sensitive membrane on bone). Healing effects include bone and tendon regeneration, increased blood vessel growth and a chemically induced decrease in pain and sensitivity of the pain receptors.
An overwhelming body of peer reviewed research proves ESWT is extremely effective for most near to bone tendonitis and tendinoseses Plantar facitis (90% Improvement), Tennis Elbow (77% Improvement), Calcific Tendonitis of the shoulder (91% Improvement). (see research articles page)
Is ESWT affordable?
Yes! Most conditions require 3 consecutive weekly treatments (full healing continues for the next 9 weeks) Most extended health care plans cover the treatment (note - our office does not direct bill insurance)
Is Extracorporeal Shockwave Therapy Safe?
Very safe! ESWT has no long term effects or damages. Some short term discomfort is felt during the treatment and some people will experience mild bruising, tingling or numbness over the area of the treatment for the following 24-48 hours.
If the condition is qualified, then treatments are done in office, no analgesic required, in about 15 minutes. 3-5 weekly treatments (condition dependent) are required and within 12 weeks most conditions have resolved. No exercises or other therapies are indicated during the 12 week healing phase.
We've invested in the most advanced shockwave technology to ensure the greatest chance of positive results for our patients.

"I was having my doubts that the treatment was going to work as the pain wasn't improving, since 27 dec then things are much better and the heal barely hurts and my walking has returned to normal. I am now having doubts that I needed the orthotics in the first place." Andy Anderson
"My shoulder is doing very well. I have almost achieved full range of motion and am able to lift with that arm laterally, which I could not do before. Occasionally I still have some impingement-like pains with very sudden or specific motions. Overall, I am very happy and quite surprised with the results.
Thanks again!
Cheers,
Louise"
